DRUNK DRIVING / SHOPLIFTING / CRIMINAL / TRAFFIC
Q. What's the highest blood alcohol level I can have and still drive? A. .04 percent blood alcohol content. When you reach .05 percent you're driving while impaired. When you hit .08 percent you're driving while intoxicated. Q. I've been charged with petit larceny for allegedly stealing from a variety store. I don't have any prior record. I did it. Am I going to jail? A. Not likely, although we don't officially ever guarantee anything. Most people we see who are charged with petit larceny never are charged again and don't serve time. Q. I got a speeding ticket while visiting Niagara Falls but I live in a different part of the country. Can I have you appear in court for me so that I don't have to appear in person? A. The court can, and usually does, grant us permission to appear on your behalf in such cases, provided you sign a document called a "waiver of appearance" in advance. |
